The Celebrity Lecture Series was established at Michigan State University by the College of Arts and Letters in order to bring in individuals significantly connected with the arts and humanities. The popularity of this series attracted students, faculty, and members of the community, and featured some of the most illustrious scholars, critics, novelists, poets, and creative artists of the time. This commemorative online archive spans a ten-year period and offers visitors the opportunity to hear the voices of distinguished visitors along with photographs taken by Douglas Elbinger. Artifacts available on the site include interviews with Amy Tan, Joyce Carol Oats, Arthur Miller, and Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.- among many others.
