FIDA- Ghana is made up of female lawyers who use their knowledge and expertise in the law to enhance the status of women and children in the society. The organisation has played a pioneer role and has been in the fore front in issues of human rights, women and children's rights and promotion of good governance for many years.
The activities of the organisation in Ghana span over three decades, and over the years, its legal aid services offered to indigent women and children in Ghana, has increased beyond the dreams of its pioneers. This has made FIDA to become a house hold name in Ghana.

In recent years the organisation has been restructured to give it a strategic orientation and to enable it offer more quality and efficient services to its numerous clients in the area of women's access to justice, women's participation in governance and the empowerment of women in general.

The organisation has collaborated with donor partners like UNICEF, OSIWA, UNIFEM, UNFPA, IBIS, GTZ and DANIDA to enable it achieve its aims and objectives.
