Women
in politics
This was produced in 1996 to support female candidate in that year's
presidential and parliamentary elections. The 30 minutes documentary
gives a historical view on the involvement of women in political
processes in Ghana since the country attained independence in 1957.
Know
Your Women MP's
This 26 minutes package on female members of the 1996 Parliament
sought to raise the profile of the 18 personalities in the House.
Empowering
Women
Tells the story of the economic rights
of women and efforts by NGO's and government to ensure the attainment
of this right. The story is focuses on women in shea butter extraction
in Northern Ghana and in Kente Weaving and farming in the Ashanti
region.
Kayayoo
Kayayoo is the story of Amina, a child migrant from Northern Ghana,
who in trying to escape economic and cultural problems back home
worked as a porter (Kayayoo) at the Agbogbloshie market in Accra.
Amina returned home with the assistance of a Danish NGO where she
received skills in crocheting.

The
"Child Fishermen"
This 30 minutes TV documentary tells the story of children who were
trafficked to the Afram Plains in Eastern Ghana to work in fishing
considered hazardous labour. The children were engaged as divers
to disentangle fishing nets that were trapped under fishing boats.
Some children lost their lives in the process.
Ashaiman Alternative Dispute Resolution
Centre
The 30 minutes documentary showcases community efforts at resolving
disputeS through mediation. Ashaiman is a densely populated community
between Accra and Tema which lacks facilities such as courts and
police stations. The ADR concept was introduced to the community
by the Ghana Association of Chartered Arbitrators and Mediators
(GHACMA).

Rights
The reproductive rights of women is the focus of this 30 minutes
documentary based on the lives of women in Northern Ghana.
Womens
Voices
This is a series of radio programmes on violence and violence against,
and women's legal rights issues. The series consist of 8-10 minutes
drama and a live studio discussion with experts. The programmes
afford direct public participation through phone-ins. |
