Message from the Executive Director

Welcome to GDIs Website

We are delighted that we have broken new grounds in our collective effort to make Ghana a better place to live and work in. Gender equity is the process of being fair to women and men. To ensure fairness, measures must often be taken to ensure a level playing field. Gender equality means that men and women have equal conditions for realising their full human rights and potentials to contribute to national, political, economic, social and cultural development and to benefits from the results.

The Gender Development Institute (GDI) is pleased to offer its range of services, including Training, capacity Development, Programme assessment and evaluation, Research and Specalised activities.Our commitment is to be responsive to clients needs in the area of gender awareness promotion.

The institute will be a focal point for ACTION and a continuous and sustained effort at gender equity dialogue. The current environment in Ghana and on the continent is such that all of civil society, NGOs, government an dparastatl organisations ad institutions should make the gender equity issue a forerunner to all their developmental efforts.

GDI is here to provide the professional support. GDI will provide an excellent opportunity for confronting the challenges of the future, while remaining faithful to its avowed vision of helping to reduce the high incidence of gender inequity within the civil, political and economic spheres.
